In four short years since its 2016 inception, designer Suhani Parekh’s luxury jewellery brand Misho has made waves from star patrons like model Kendal Jenner, actors Claire Foy and Priyanka Chopra Jonas to singers Rihanna, Beyoncé and others.

An art history and sculpture major from Goldsmith’s University in London, Suhani, 29, chanced upon jewellery design when the wearable art she made for herself invited curiosity and compliments. Crafted as architecture for the body, Misho’s design language, inspired by Suhani’s travels, embodies strong lines with a focus on the malleability of material and adaptability for its wearer.

“Last month, Misho hoops were seen on Sara Ali Khan on the cover of Elle India and on Viola Davis in Variety magazine—a millennial Indian actor and a seasoned Black icon wore the same piece effortlessly,” she says highlighting the jewellery designed with versatility in mind. Her imaginative personal style led her to choose ripped Levi’s jeans, a white tank top, a Lanvin coat and pearly knee-high boots as the bridal ensemble for her pandemic wedding in December 2020.

Suhani was listed in the prestigious Forbes 30 Under 30 list in 2018, awarded Harper’s Bazaar Jewellery Designer of the Year in 2019 and successfully launched collaborations with clothing brands Bhaane and Ekaya in the midst of lockdown.
